MANIFEST 06 / DEVELOPER TOOLS

Kept local setups in sync.

I added inspection and scoped repair for drift in managed skills and MCP configuration, while preserving local overrides.

The problem

Managed AI tooling could drift from its intended configuration. Repair also needed to respect local overrides, rather than treating every difference as something to replace.

My role

I added inspection and scoped repair for drift in managed skills and MCP configuration, while preserving local overrides.

The decisions and work

The change made inspection and repair explicit parts of the tooling. Repair was scoped to managed configuration, with local overrides preserved.

That boundary mattered: the tooling needed to distinguish the configuration it managed from choices made locally.

The outcome

Drift inspection and targeted repair behavior for managed developer tooling, with local overrides retained.

What I took from it

The developer tools needed clear ownership boundaries. Repair restored the part the tool managed while respecting the environment around it.
