MANIFEST 01 / API REWRITE
In one weekend, I rewrote a Python service in Go to reduce operating costs. The change cut costs by 60% and, across the DSP/SSP APIs, led to more than $1 million in savings over the following year.

To complete the service rewrite.
Operating costs drove the decision to rewrite the service in Go. I completed the rewrite in one weekend.
The service still needed to run in a container, connect to its dependencies, fit its infrastructure, and be exercised under load.
I implemented the Go API rewrite and the supporting runtime and delivery changes. That included container setup, Redis integration, infrastructure work, and a load-testing harness.
Keeping those changes in scope made the rewrite reviewable as a system, with a way to exercise the new implementation alongside the code itself.
Validated with a repeatable synthetic load-testing harness. The harness exercised the service under a defined workload.
The API rewrite and supporting runtime, infrastructure, and testing changes were merged.
For me, the rewrite included the work around the code: how it started, what it depended on, and how someone else could test it. That was the level at which I wanted the migration to be understood and reviewed.
I’m interested in conversations about engineering leadership and focused technical work.
